A
Stop in Ephesus
One
of the highlights in Turkey and the first stop on the cruise after
several days in Istanbul was the ancient city of Ephesus. Card Player
Cruises treated its guests who were so inclined to a day touring
the ancient city.

Ephesus
is thousands of years old and is being reconstructed and archeologically
dug on a year-round basis to uncover this entire city. Some of the
more popular points during the tour were the vomitorium (yes, it
is just what it sounds like it would be) and the 68-hole group toilet!
Yes, things were definitely different in days gone by! Here, the
group rests under one of the only shade trees at Ephesus, just outside
the amphitheater, a theater in the round with almost perfect acoustics.
It was 100 degrees and humid this particular day so it is no wonder
the group needed a break. This tour was one to be remembered and
revisited. Anyone who has toured Ephesus knows there are always
new things being uncovered. It is an archeological dig in process,
and truly fascinating!
