The
Amalphi Coast
The
Amalphi Coast was truly magnificent to all who ventured to it. This
day began in Sorrento where many of the Card Player Cruise group
went their own way.
Some
went to the picturesque Blue Grotto where they enjoyed gondola rides
and were serenaded by gondoliers. Pictured here is a vista from
the coast of the island heading towards Amalphi. The building on
the jetty was hundreds of years old and had been utilized as a fortress.
Today, it merely adds to the tranquil beauty of this unequaled day
in paradise. Every corner that the hired car turned provided another
view of splendor and beauty. It is hard to imagine that we ever
reached our destination, driving down the coast, as we had to stop
so often to "smell the roses," look, and say "wow!"
