Card Player Cruises Mediterranean Cruise

Corfu, Greece, is a beautiful island that boasts magnificent beaches, soaring cliffs, vistas beyond description, and a pastoral landscape reminiscent of Costa Rica. Settled in 740 BC, Corfu has had a rich and varied history as well as many rulers and conquerors. There are museums, cathedrals, and wondrous architecture to enjoy in this laid-back and friendly village. We chose to spend the day with a hired driver who drove us around much of the island allowing us the freedom to see what we wanted and "having it our way" so to speak. Many of our cruisers visited one or more of the world famous beaches. Glyfada and Paleokastritsa are but two of the most popular. At the latter, a monastery sits quietly above the beach almost in another world and time. As Corfu borders the country of Albania, it was easy to see across the narrow inlet that separated the two countries just how different the "other side of the street" could look.
