Card Player Cruises Mediterranean Cruise

Dubrovnik, Croatia, is considered the pearl of the Adriatic. Although I am not sure what that means, it sounds nice and since I thought that the city was nice, what the heck? After our whirlwind trip through Europe, enjoying blue and sunny skies daily, the rains finally caught up with us here, and we endured the biggest monsoon we ever had seen. Our Card Player Cruises family couldn't complain, though. Since the weather had been perfect up until this point, as well as the following day at our final port of Venice, it provided some good fun as we all got totally drenched. Famous 18-foot thick walls and towers surround this city. These are impressive forts and lookouts and remain one of the best surviving examples of a walled medieval city. Centuries of war and natural disasters have hampered Croatia (formerly Yugoslavia) yet she has endured and is almost a secret to the outside world in her beauty, charm, and mysticism. Settled in the 7th century, Dubrovnik is a port we would like to return to and explore much further.
