Card Player Cruises Mediterranean Cruise

Portofino, Italy, the jewel of the Italian Riviera, is one of the most picturesque places in the world. A camera enthusiast's dream spot, it is a narrow inlet southeast of Genoa in the heart of the Italian Riviera. Reportedly, it is the most famous small port in the world and one who visits or enjoys the photos can easily see why. The port itself is a cluster of cobblestoned windy streets with a town center of sorts that hosts restaurants, boutiques, bars, and galleries. High in the hills above the village is the church of San Giorgio. It is said that this contains the relics of St. George and were brought here by the Crusaders from the Holy Land. Far into the distance, the Maritime Alps are visible. By taking a walking tour of the town, you are able to enjoy an old castle where a German baron once lived, private villas (of the rich and famous no doubt), tall trees and lush vegetation, and a lighthouse that helps to protect the harbor out on the point. Visits to Portofino are days to invest in film stock to be sure.
