PartyPoker Million Final Table - March 2002
Kathy Liebert is studying the action closely here as she swept through
to victory in the inaugural PartyPoker Million tournament, hosted
by Card Player Cruises. She is from Las Vegas, Nevada and is a professional
poker player. She bought into the event for the $8,000 and began
the final day with a chip count of $176,500. She also was the chip
leader when the play was whittled down to the semifinal round of
45. She never looked back! Kathy has played poker since childhood
and when we asked how many tournaments she had played, she simply
said "lots." Prior to becoming the first woman to win
$1,000,000 in a poker tournament as well as the largest first prize
in limit hold'em history, the most money she had pocketed was $170,000.
Her favorite game is no limit hold'em. Imagine if she had been playing
her first choice game on this red-letter day!
