Hi everyone!

Fall foliage final blog 2014

This is the last blog I will be sending since most of you will be on the way to Boston tomorrow. Jan and I have enjoyed our cruise, but are eager for you to join us on Sunday so the poker can begin.

We were in Halifax today from 9 am until 6:30pm. We experienced the first bad weather of the trip; there was a steady drizzle all day, but at least the temperature stayed in the low ‘60s. I have been all over the world, but have never seen more beautiful scenery than I saw today. The fall foliage was at peak and there were lots of lakes, bays, and coves to drive along. The scenic village of Mahone Bay must be the prettiest spot in the entire world! Peggy’s Cove is another must-see village with a fabulous lighthouse and lots of cutesy shops. If the weather is bad, Peggy's Cove might not as enjoyable as another excursion.

Please do yourself a favor and book a ship’s tour in Halifax. I highly recommend the tour that combines Peggy’s Cove and the Hop On, Hop Off bus that goes to all the historical stops in town. If you are really adventurous, you should consider renting a car, but only if you are a very good driver. I can recommend a fabulous scenic drive that will take 4-6 hours. If you are a history buff, you should check out the combination Peggy’s Cove and Titanic Tour. There also is a three-hour tour that features everything Titanic related. If you haven’t booked your tours online, please do so on day one of the cruise.
